Water Fun!

July 31st, 2010 Classmate Blogs No comments

It is so blazing hot here that if we are out side we HAVE to be in the water so here are a few pictures of what we do for fun with water!

This is our neighbor friend Ebonee. She comes over and holds Wesley a lot and plays with Logan once and awhile. She is a great help, especially when Scott isn’t around. She just LOVES holding Wesley!

My mom was so nice to send us this HUGE (that word is just for Jaclyn and Kaitlyn!) water slide. The kids loved it the first day but then they were scared of it the next time we brought it out. The adults don’t mind it though.

If there isn’t much going on Logan gets to just play with the hose and sprinkler. He loves it!

I think Logan looks pretty COOL here with his sun glasses and water shoes. He is ready to hit the water!

The Tootles Outfit!

Here is a better angle of the Tootles outfit. It was too cute! A tulle skirt with this separate tulle bussle sticking out the back, and then that HUGE flower on her shirt. Seriously, so cute!

Tomatoes Anyone?

October 27th, 2009 Dan No comments

So with the birth of Tallie, we kind of forgot about our garden until my dad went and looked at it and came inside and said that we had a bunch of tomatoes in our garden still. We had no idea how it avoided getting frozen, but nonetheless, our tomatoes were still thriving!

Because we knew the storm was on it’s way in, we decided to pick all of of our tomatoes and hope they ripen off the vine.

Here is the end product!!! Can you believe it? We still have two boxes of tomatoes and it is almost November! Anyone want any tomatoes, just let me know, I think we can spare a few…

This is not even including the huge bag of tomatoes we gave our neighbors!

I am thinking next year, we may plant some other things besides 16 tomato plants!

Snow fell for a solid three hours today, marking the joyous

Snow fell for a solid three hours today, marking the joyous time of year that means hot chocolate and holiday decorations and fat-hiding sweaters. I honestly could have thrown myself into a snow bank and made an angel of happiness today.

I have never been so ready for winter in my life. I think there’s something about the slowness of unemployed days that makes you just crave the turning of calendar pages. For me, this winter holds all sorts of promise. The promise of holidays with my family, the promise of our likely trip to Ohio some time in the next three months, the promise of a spring that will find me employed in something I love to do…

I know there are people who spend their whole year looking forward to summer’s promise of barbecues and vacations, but I spend the whole year waiting for bundled up days and Black Friday sales. I’m so happy to be starting out this winter in Utah, with the best snow on earth and all that, since the ice storms and grey skies of Ohio winters kind of bum me out.

I wonder how I should celebrate the start of winter…normally, I would bake cookies but with the whole diet thing going on, that seems sort of like self-sabotage. It’s a little early to start my Christmas shopping and I’m not that into winter sports. Hmm, guess I’ll have to keep thinking…
